Reading Log Fahrenheit 451 Part I
-
What happens in the book is like our futur. If the society continues like this, it will be a dystopian society. In the novel, all the books are banned and burned. In the real life, few books are banned and sometimes, we burn them.
-
“He felt that the stars had been pulverized by the sound of the black jets (…)” It means that the black jets are very loud.
-
“There are too many of us, he thought. There are billions of us and that's too many. Nobody knows anyone. Strangers come and violate you. Strangers come and cut your heart out. Strangers come and take your blood. Good God, who were those men? I never saw them before in my life!” This is real. In real life, we don't even know everyone in our classroom! Just like Montag says, nobody knoes anyone.
-
Mildred's overdose proves that she is like everyone. She doesn't have a personality. She is too conformed to the society. In real life, people begin to lose their personality. A lot of people have the same haircut, the same way to be dressed, etc.
-
The more Montag talks to Clarisse, the more he is happy and relaxed. That's because with her, he learn to appreciates the little things. In real life, it works exactly like this. If we appreciate the little things like the smell of the rain or the smell of old leaves, we will be more happy and relaxed.
-
I'm a little bit sad that the author decided to kill Clarisse. I think she was there to help Montag to understand that he is not happy and to help him to understand why.
-
I think it was a good idea from the author to burn the old woman because it makes Montag realize that he is really unhappy. It makes things change in his life.
